South West Coast Tour

The Palau Pledge is a world-first eco-initiative that asks all inbound visitors to make a compulsory promise, directly to the children of Palau, to preserve their home before they can enter the country. Supported by an awareness campaign and educational material, it is an incredibly successful conservation and cultural preservation initiative that draws attention to the ecological challenges related to tourism. The Palau Pledge has gone on to inspire other world-class, public awareness and personal commitment projects across the globe including the Tiaki Promise (NZ), Pono Pledge (Hawaii) and the Icelandic Pledge.

In April we had the privilege of sharing our incredible South West Coastline with Palau Pledge co-founder Laura Clarke and West Tech Fest founder Paula Taylor. We learnt about coastal issues from the traditional owners, local environmental groups and park rangers and Laura shared knowledge to assist with developing new strategies for conservation in the region. We are working on an exciting initiative in this space and look forward to sharing updates later in the year.
